Qualifications

Nicolas Barrios is Tax Manager at Grant Thornton Argentina. He is a Certified Public Accountant graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA).

He has taken different courses by Grant Thornton International Ltd. (GTIL), including “Bilateral treaty to avoid double taxation” (Uruguay), “High manager trustworthy consultant” (Uruguay), “How to organise a successful tax practise” (Brazil) and “International taxation of direct taxes” -Levels I & II- (Argentina). He also made the intermediate Pedagogical Training Section for professionals at the Universidad FASTA (UFASTA).

Nicolás is a professional practices’ mentor at the Technical Education School N°3 “Dr. Norberto Piñero” from Tandil, Buenos Aires Province.

Experience

Nicolás has more than 18 years of professional experience. He is part of Grant Thornton Argentina since 2007.

He has been involved in assignments for tax advice, due diligence and data room, tax planning, tax reviews and tax audits, fiscal impact on projects analysis, registrations in AFIP and provincial income, attention to inspections, requests for VAT recoveries for exports of goods and/or services and refund of balances in favor of the taxpayer in AFIP, and supervision and settlement of Affidavits of national and provincial taxes (annual and monthly), municipal taxes and Affidavits of natural persons.

Nicolás has vast experience assisting clients from various industries, such as tourism, agribusiness, telecommunications, consumer goods and forwarders.

Before joining Grant Thornton Argentina, he worked for a year and a half as Tax Assistant at Turner Internacional Argentina (Claxson).
