Gabriel Currarino is Accounting Advisory Senior Manager at Grant Thornton Argentina. He is a Certified Public Accountant graduated with honours (Cum Laude) from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) and is studying a master's degree in International Accounting at the UBA. He holds an international certification in International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a postgraduate degree in IFRS from the Universidad de San Andrés (UdeSA).
Gabriel is member of the Technical Committee of Grant Thornton Argentina and from the Accounting Studies Committee of the Professional Council in Economic Sciences of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CPCECABA).
Gabriel is a professor of the IFRS International Certification programme at the Universidad Austral (partner in learning of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales – ICAEW). He was Audit professor at the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) and in the Specialization in National and International Accounting and Auditing Standards from the CPCECABA. He is also an instructor in various in-house courses.
Gabriel has more than 15 years of professional experience. He is part of Grant Thornton Argentina since 2015 and Manager since 2018.
He has vast experience advising clients on complex accounting and financial reporting matters, including the initial adoption of IFRS, implementation of new accounting standards, accounting for business combinations, hybrid or compound financial instruments and the application of the accounting inflation adjustment.
He has been involved in auditing, issuing financial statements under local regulations and IFRS and assistance during the process of issuing Negotiable Obligations and entry to the public offering regime assignments for international companies and groups of several industries.
Some of his most relevant clients are Tiendamía, Black and Decker, IRSA, Seaboard, Club Atlético River Plate and Assist Card.
